Also take things in your own hands by creating a compelling need from an artificial source with manufactured VALUE.

Ha...I actually find myself a month into this exact situation. Ironically you posted this two days before my last day at my previous product management gig. I wonder if things would've been different if I'd seen your blog sooner? :)

I don't see a wrestling match in my near future...rather I am using the argument that we are at a crucial moment where we will either lose half or double our recurring revenue base (hopefully not the manufactured value Vaneet speaks of) if we don't take action very soon. Got the sales VPs on my side very quickly.
